Discover Ozark’s Hidden Gems

Ride and Explore

This 112‑mile ride takes its name from the infamous 1874 Jesse James train robbery at Gad’s Hill, but the route itself is all about scenery, history, and classic Ozarks backroads. Starting and ending in Eminence, it winds through some of the best landscapes in the Northeast Ozarks — rolling hills, deep forest, and long stretches of quiet, shaded pavement. One of the highlights is the crossing at Akers Ferry on the Current River, a timeless little piece of Missouri history. It’s worth calling ahead to make sure the ferry is running at 573‑858‑3224.
